Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
We've written this the way we'd want to read it: clearly, completely, and without hiding the boring-but-important parts. It explains exactly what we collect, what we deliberately never collect, and what you can do about both.
Effective date: January 1, 2025 · Applies to okemall.com and all its tool pages
If You Read Nothing Else, Read This
Never collected
Your images, files, and the numbers you enter into our tools are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to us. We don't have them, so we can't store, sell, or leak them.
Collected only if you contact us
When you email us, we receive your email address and message, and keep them just long enough to help. That's the only personal information we receive directly.
Cookies & ads
Like most free sites, we show ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve them — that's the full business model. You can opt out of personalized ads at any time.
You're in control
Opt out of ad personalization with one click, control cookies in your browser, and email us to access or delete anything tied to your email address.
Who We Are
Okemall ("we", "us", "our") operates the website okemall.com and the free tools and guides found on it. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Okemall is the data controller for any personal information described in this policy.
This policy covers the entire site — every converter, calculator, and image tool — and applies to all visitors. If anything here is unclear, contact us and we'll explain it in plain words rather than point you at another paragraph.
What Never Leaves Your Device
This is the part we're proudest of, so we'll state it plainly: our tools are built to process your files and inputs locally, in your own browser. When you resize or flip an image, extract text from a screenshot, or enter values into a converter or calculator, that work happens on your device — it is not uploaded to, stored on, or transmitted through our servers.
Concretely, we never receive, and therefore never store: your images and documents, the values you convert or calculate, the text you extract, or any output our tools produce for you. Once you close the browser tab, that data exists only on your device.
What We Do Collect
Information you give us directly
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it solely to respond to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Standard technical data
Like nearly every website on the internet, our hosting infrastructure automatically processes a small amount of technical data required to deliver the site to you and keep it secure:
- Your IP address and rough location (country or city level), as seen by our hosting provider
- Your browser type and device category (e.g., "Chrome on Android")
- The pages you visit and when, used only in aggregate to understand which tools are useful
This information is used for security, troubleshooting, and aggregate traffic statistics. It is never combined with your tool activity — we genuinely have no tool activity to combine it with.
Advertising & Google AdSense
Advertising is the sole way Okemall covers its costs — you can read the full story on our About page. We use Google AdSense to display ads, and Google requires us to tell you the following, which we're happy to do in plain language:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and you can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland are presented with a consent notice governing the use of cookies for personalized advertising, in line with applicable law.
For more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see Google's "How Google uses information from sites that use its services" page.
Two honest notes: we don't choose which specific ads appear — that's determined by Google and the advertisers — so an ad on our site is not an endorsement by us. And ads are never shown inside your tool results; nothing interrupts the actual work you came here to do.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used — which pages are popular, which countries visitors come from, and where people get stuck. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally, and it is never linked to anything you do inside our tools.
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data using the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which works on all major browsers.
Third-Party Links
Some of our guides link to external sites we consider useful — for example, PayPal's official fee documentation. Once you leave okemall.com, this policy no longer applies: those sites have their own privacy practices, which we encourage you to read. We only link to sources we've chosen deliberately, but we can't take responsibility for how other sites handle your data.
Data Retention
- Tool inputs and files: not retained at all — they never reach us.
- Email correspondence: kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterward, in case a follow-up is needed — then deleted.
- Technical and analytics data: retained only for the period set by the respective service (Google Analytics data, for example, is typically auto-expiring), and used in aggregate.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you have legal rights over your personal data. Because the personal data we hold is minimal (mainly email correspondence), exercising these rights is refreshingly simple: email us, and we'll handle it within 30 days.
🇪🇺 If you're in the EU / EEA / UK (GDPR)
You have the rights to access your personal data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing, withdraw consent (for example, to cookie-based advertising via the consent notice), and data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our lawful basis for processing: legitimate interest (site operation and security) and consent (advertising and analytics cookies).
🇺🇸 If you're in California (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the rights to know what personal information is collected, delete it, correct it, and opt out of its "sale" or "sharing". To be clear: we do not sell personal information — we never receive your files or tool inputs, and we don't pass contact details to advertisers. Exercising your rights will never result in discrimination against you.
To exercise any right, email [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Request." We'll verify it's really you, then act on it.
Children's Privacy
Okemall is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in parts of the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Our tools require no accounts or personal details to use, which keeps children's exposure to data collection minimal by design. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
How We Protect Your Data
We protect your information the honest way: by keeping as little of it as possible. The site is served over HTTPS encryption, our tools keep your files on your device rather than our servers, and access to email correspondence is limited to the team members who need it to respond to you.
No system is ever perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise — but the architecture of this site means there is simply no central database of your images, documents, or calculations to breach. The less we hold, the less there is to lose.
International Visitors
Okemall is operated internationally and available worldwide. When you visit, our hosting providers and service partners (such as Google for ads and analytics) may process the limited technical data described in this policy in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, those transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant — a new data practice, a new partner, anything that would surprise you — we'll explain it clearly rather than quietly editing a date.
Effective date: January 1, 2025 · This page was last reviewed in January 2025.
